Technically the first thing I wrote in the world of SunRider, even before the first book. It was the success of posting this story for free online and having wonderful fans convince me to write a fantasy novel that spawned some of the first seeds for the series. Gosh, those were the times: writing a short story every other day in every genre and genre-blend I could think of to challenge my creativity and writing skills. There were some wild combos that never worked out and I still giggle about, but man did it give me better perspective on getting out of the box.
